Lyuesword Handmade Folded Steel Wakizashi Sword

The overall length of this sword is 30.7 inches, or 78 cm. The Nagasa length, which is the length of the blade, is 19.7 inches, or 52 cm. The handle length measures 8.1 inches, or 21 cm.

The Kissaki, or the blade's tip, has a Chu-Kissaki shape. The blade itself is crafted using the SHINOGUI-ZUKURI method, which is a traditional Japanese blade forging technique. The blade width near the Habaki (the blade collar) is 1.26 inches, or 3.2 cm, while the width near the Kissaki is 0.91 inches, or 2.3 cm.

The blade is made of folded steel, with a unique texture resulting from the 12-fold forging process that creates 4096 layers. This intricate process enhances the blade's flexibility and hardness. Additionally, a Bo-hi, or blood groove, has been added to each side of the blade, which not only lightens the weapon but also helps to balance it for optimal performance. If you prefer a blade without the Bo-hi, we can customize it to your preference.

The Tsuba, or guard, is made of iron, and two Seppa spacers secure it in place. The Habaki, or blade collar, is crafted from brass.

The Saya, or sheath, is made of hard wood and features a high-gloss lacquered finish. The Sage-O, a type of cord, is tied around the Kurikata, or knob, of the Saya, while the Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) have been hardened.

This sword comes with the Saya attached, and a free silk bag is included. However, the box and stand are not part of the package.

In summary, this is a fully hand-forged blade with a full tang. The Tsuka, or handle, is wrapped with genuine ray skin and tied with real silk Ito. The Fuchi and Kashira, the metal fittings at the top and bottom of the handle, feature Menuki, or ornamental pieces, on each side.
